Signals tracked for Rapidious

The public records we read for Rapidious, ordered by how close each sits to the day a dealer principal or pre-owned manager decides how the used lot gets priced. Every account on the Accounts tab came out of one of these classes, and the class is named there.

How we rank a signal

Two questions decide a signal's value: how close is it to the moment a dealer changes how trades get appraised and aged units get priced, and can the store actually buy at Rapidious's size. A dated record of an ownership change or a new rooftop beats an announcement; an announcement beats a job post; a job post beats a lot full of over-90s, because every lot has over-90s this fall.

One signal is a lead. Two independent signals at the same rooftop, such as a new owner plus a pre-owned manager posting, is a qualified window.

Closest to the decision

First ninety days

Events that put a new decision-maker over the used lot, or a new lot under an existing one.

Ownership change at an independent dealer

A family sale, a buyout, or one independent buying another's rooftop. The new owner reviews every vendor and wants a clean read on the trades and aged units they just bought. Read from trade press, local business press and state dealer-licence transfers.

From this screenMeyer's RV Superstores bought White Horse RV Center's two New Jersey stores, reported 2026-09-02: sixteen rooftops, above the band for this reader.

New rooftop or new franchise point

A store opening, a relocation, or a state notice of a new franchise point for an RV manufacturer. New trades arrive with no local comps and no history on the desk.

From this screenMoix RV opened Airstream of Arkansas in Conway, reported 2026-09-25, Airstream's first Arkansas store in six years, grand opening October 2026.

New or open seat over pre-owned

A live posting or a dated appointment for a general manager, director of pre-owned or used inventory manager. An empty seat means the used lot is being run by whoever is left; a new manager wants numbers to back appraisals and markdowns.

From this screenBretz RV & Marine posted a Butte General Sales Manager on 2026-08-24 owning pricing and pre-owned; the dealer's staff page still shows the seat as Coming Soon.

Forcing events

Weeks

Records a dealer does not choose to publish.

Storm or flood loss at the lot

A federal disaster declaration plus the dealer's own dated post about damaged units or reopening. Restocking used units fast is when over-allowance on trades costs the most.

Absorbing a failed neighbour

A court-approved sale or trade-press record of which independent bought the units, the store or the franchise from a dealer that closed. The absorber, not the debtor, is the account.

New used-buying operation

A 'we buy RVs' page, consignment program or buying centre launched this year. The desk is appraising walk-ins daily without a trade to anchor the number.

Confirming only

Never lead with these

Aged units on the dealer's own site

Days-in-stock and price-drop badges on the dealer's inventory pages. It confirms the pain and dates nothing; it leads a card only when counted and paired with an event above.

Floorplan lender changes

A new floorplan lender on a UCC filing, or a lender leaving RV. Rarely public enough to lead.

Season

Elkhart open house ordering in late September, model-year changeover, the RVDA convention, January shows. They make 'why now' believable and never carry a card alone.

What each account arrives with

  • Dealer and the specific record that surfaced it, linked to the primary source with its date
  • The person who signs, with title and a checked work email where one exists
  • The suggested first line and the correction, so outreach never claims more than the record shows

Contact records are delivered in full, validation method and date included. Current Rapidious customers and consolidator stores are screened out before research starts.

Signal classes describe categories of public record and the cadence we read them on. Per-account claims live on the Accounts tab with their sources.
